Nov. 11, 1959 - Test Pilot who came Back from the Dead returns home: Test Pilot Johnny Squier whose return from the dead created a sensation five weeks ago left hospital and returned home to Preston yesterday. He was the pilot of the 1, 300 m.p.h Pl Lightning jet fighter which crashed into the sea. He was missing and presumed dead, then he stumbled ashore near Carlieston, Wigtownshire about 30 miles from the point of the crash having been adrift in the escape dinghy for thirty hours searching aircraft and ships having seen no trace of him. He was taken to hospital suffering from exposure shock etc. Photo shows Johnny Squier and his wife at their home, Broad Oak Farm, Penwortham, Preston on his return from hospital
