Feb. 26 British Whispering Giants for U.S. grow apace Northeast Airlines has ordered five Britain newest and biggest airliner, the Bristol Britannia 305, for its New York Florida route. The Whispering Giant, as it has been named, is 124 ft. long and has a wing span of over 142 ft. It four Bristol Proteus turboprop engines give it a cruising speed of 400 m.p.h. at 22, 500 ft.
