Feb. 26 New French Freight And Passenger Aircraft On Show. The Hurel Dubois High Aspect Ratio Machine: The Hurel Dubois High Aspect Radio Aircraft was to be seen at Shoreham Airport, Sussex this afternoon on display by the Miles organisation. It is an entirely new approach to low cost air transport. It is designed for freight and passenger carrying over 500 to 2000 KM. It is of all metal construction and powered with Pratt and Whitey R.1830 engines - and the aircraft has a fixed landing gear. It is fitted with huge removable outer wings, each having a span of 18.65 metres. Each outer wingonsists of a trapezodial section with a length of 10.50 metres. The latter has a few degrees washout to improve the stalling characteristics of the aircraft. It is designed for transport of a passengers and freight or passengers only - as many as 44 passenger can be carried. The machine is considered particularly suitable for landing and taking-off from areas which are supplied with inadcguage ground installations.
