(Flug and Fahrzeugwerke Ag, Altenrhein) was originally planed to be a Pioneer project but during the first trials it was proven to be a real new high capacity plane in this field. Withing a few months the Diamant won first place and forth place in the alpine glider Championships, and second place in the Alpine glider championships in France. The Diamant also had three day victoires at the U.S. National Glider Championships. To this can be added a new Swiss distance record exceeding seven hundred kilos in the Rockys by Rene Comtes. The Swiss Federal Aviation office issued the Diamant H.B.V. the air worthiness certificate and the American federal aviation agency issued a flying permit in the U.S.to the new type of glider in recognition of the great Swiss pioneering developments. In Alenrhein at the plant of Flug and Fahrzeugwerke Ag, the serial production of the Diamant has been started and especially in export they have already achieved a considerable success. Once again the Swiss industry has shown that they are capable and well equipt to solve complex problems baced on their own resorcefulness
