Mar. 31 Malta - The Palace Of The Grand Masters And Residence Of The Governor. The Palace of the Grand Masters, now the Palace of the Governor of Malta, stands on the side of the principal square of Valletta. It was completed in1574. the ground floor is used as offices for the Department's of the Government, and the upper floor contains the state apartments. The enormous Armoury originally contained sufficient equipment for 25, 000 men, today's collection consists of 3721 genuine pieces including early Maximilian French, Milancese and English specimens. The council Chamber or Tapestry Hall, with its magnificent Goeln tapestries is used for sittings of the Legislative Assembly tapestries is used for sittings of the legislative Assembly. Malt - The Palace Of The Grand Masters. A relic of the last war to be seen in the Armoury. It is Faith the survivor of the three Gladiator aircraft that were Malta's sole air defence on the outbreak of the last World War
