Feb. 11, 1960 - Maurice Nogues flew from the Toussus-le-Noble Airport towards the Orient for a new aeronautical experience. He was accompanied by the mechanic Georges Marsot. He flew from Paris to Bagdad by Beirut and then on to Saigon. On March 9th, Nogues connected France with Indochina. Today, 30 years later, Air France and the friends of the pilot remember him as the first Air France Paris-Saigon flight was inaugurated yesterday. A bronze palm was given to the airplane crew so that it could be placed on the monument erected at the airport in memory of the discovery flight that traced the route of modern airplanes
