1962 - Gurkha families arrives: The first party of Gurkha families joining 51 Infantry Brigade Group at Tidworth arrived at Raf Lyneham today. It included 46 Gurkha soldiers, 12 wives and 28 children. Photo shows well prepared for the traditional British climate is this young Gurkha boy, who complete with umbrella, took a stroll by himself on arrival at Lyneham today
