Feb. 02, 1962 - Britain's New Air Giant: Vickers VC 10 - the biggest jet airliner ever built in Europe - is nearing completion at Weybridge, Surrey. The 600-mph airliner, which can carry up to 150 passengers, should be airborne by Spring and in service with BOAC by 1964. It's four jets are mounted along the rear of the fuselage.
