Jul. 07, 1960 - The Y.B.L. A New Anti-Submarine Aircraft: This unusual photograph shows two of the anti-submarine prototypes built by Blackburn and General Aircraft flying over the East Yorkshire countryside. These two machines have identical fusclages by the near one, the Y.B.L, is powered by an Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba Turbo-prop unit, whereas the other, the Y.A. 5, has a Rolls Royce Griffin Piston Engine. This interesting development in parallel provides the unique achievement of the same aircraft being available to the Navy in a single or twin-engines form
