May 06, 1964 - A New And Bigger Concord: Improvements in the Anglo-French supersonic Concord airliner have been detailed in a joint statement by the British Aircraft Corporation and Sud Aviation, The changes have been made possible by greater thrust from the Bristol Siddeley Olympus jet engines which allow wing area to be increased by 15 1/2%m, the span being extended 6 feet to 83ft, and length by 14ft to 184 ft, with increases in loads to be carried.
