May 05, 1963 - Vertical start jet in Germany ready: The first Vertical start jet of west Germany is now ready. This Vertiscal start jet with the name VC 101 C-X 1 was introduced the 15.5.1963 on the military airport of Manching near Ingolstadt in Germany to the Press. The Vertical start jet has 6 jet-engines and were builded by the german Entwicklungsring Sud consisting of the three firms with name Heinkel, Messerschimdt and Bolkow.
