Nov. 11, 1960 - Wife learns to fly aircraft on 7, 000 mile trip: Captain Michael Somerton - Rayner of the Army Air Corps and his wife Ina landed at Middle Wallop, Hants, yesterday at the end of their 7, 000 mile flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaya in their 17 year old Auster aircraft which they purchased in Malaya for £500. They left Malaya on Oct. 1st and made 34 landings in India - Egypt - Libya and Jordan, and during the journey Captain Rayner who is to be a flying instructor with the Army Air Corps taught his wife to fly and navigate the machine.
