Sep. 09, 1962 - Battle of Britain Anniversary; Twenty two years ago this week was the Battle of Britain. At R.A.F. station at Wattisham, Surrey, the two main types of defensive fighter used against the enemy, the Hurricane and the Spitfire, were painted with the markings of the famous Treble One squadron. Then five types of aircraft with which the squadron has been equipped since 1938 flew in formation.
