Dec. 12, 1964 - British Official Photograph Phantoms in the sky as guns open fire.: A triple-phantom effect is pictured for the first time as a R.A.F. Lighting interceptor fighter fires its 30m.m guns at 36, 000 fet over the Trimingham range, near Cromer, Norolk, when the guns are fired heat causes a visible area of condensation which flows along the leading edges of the wings and assumes their shape. This blends into the main condensation. Photo shows the Lightning fas fired one burst and a Ghost is just forming
