Mar. 14, 1966 - 14-3-66 British Soldiers in the frozen North of Norway 900 British soldiers from the Somerset at Cornwall Light Infantry, are taking part in NATOS Winter Express manoeuvres in the frozen North of Norway, in a temperature of 30 degrees centigrade. They took up skiing for the first time when they arrived there three weeks ago and picked it up so rapidly that in the NATO ski championships they beat American, Canadian and even crack Italian Alpini teams. Officially, the object of the exercise is To test the procedures of the deployment of the Allied Command Europe (ACR) Mobile Force in the area of possible employment.
