Seven countries contributed in achievement of the first experimental Euro control centre which was officially opened at Bretigny, 35 miles from Paris. The new centre is intended to study the means of improving the air safety, to ensure a perfect control of the ever increasing air traffic and to prepare a programme for the years to come.
