Mar. 03, 1967 - An Aircraft built by flying Pioneer Bleriot in 1909 will soon fly again: An aircraft built by Louis Bleriot in 1909 will soon fly again. It is own of the only two such machines known to be in existence. Bleriot built the aircraft, a single engined monoplnae, following his successful flight across the English Channel in 1909. It is being overhauled by the staff at the Shuttleworth Collection (of old aircraft, cars, by bicycles)at Old Warden Aerodrme, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. The present owner, London businessman, Mr. Leslie Goldsmith, had the rotting relic flown to England from a Belguim engineering firm near Liege. Photo shows Mr. Malcolm Frazer, the works manager of Shuttleworth, is seen working on the controls of the aircraft, while MR. Wally Berry an aircraft engineer, is seen working on the fuselage at Old Warden Aerodome today
