Jan. 01, 1968 - The U.S. Air force will use the A-37 jet fighter to train over 100 Vietnamese Air Force pilots at England Air Force Base, Louisiana. Each student will receive 112 hours of ground training and 85 hours of flying training. Upon graduation, the pilots will return to the Republic of Vietnam. The A-37built by Cassena Aircraft Company, Wichita, Kansas, is a lightweight, twin-engine, subsonic around attack aircraft designed for close air support of ground force, interdiction and limited warfare. It can carry up 5, 600 pound of conventional ordinance and has a Mose-mounted 7062cm minigum which can fire up to 6, 000 rounds er minutpo. The 4532ndCombat Crew Training Center will train the Vnaf Pilots
