Jan. 01, 1967 - Europe's Biggest Air Control Centre Opens at Bretigny: Seven countries have contributed to achieve the first experimental Eurocontrol air centre which was officially opened at Bretigny, 35 mile from Paris today. The new centre is intended to study the means of the improving the air safety, to ensure a perfect control of the ever-increasing air traffic and to prepare a programme for the years to come.
