Feb. 26 Hercules enters R.A.F. Squadron Service, Tuesday, September 26, 1967 The first squadron of R.A.F. Air Support Command to fly the Hercules C. Mk.l. aircraft No. 36 has now been formed at R.A.F. Lyneham, Wilts. It is commanded by Wing Commander J.D. Payling. Introduction of the Hercules, 66 have been ordered for the R.A.F. will substantially increase the capability of Air Support Command's tactical force.
