Dec. 12, 1968 - Kenya Plane Crash: A Kenya police airwing plane a DC3 carrying Christmas gifts for Police force in the Northern Frountier District crashed minutes after takeoff from Wilson Airport, the buisest airport in Africa. The plane narrowly missed houses in the nearby estate, and bust into flames reaching 50ft high. Thunder of explosion was heard throughout the city at 840 in the morning. Two British pilots and a Senior Officer of Police Air Wing were killed immediately. There was no other crew in the aircraft. This is the first fatel aircraft in Kenya for many yars now. The two Britons were Kenneth Richmond Bick and Charles Rowe both from United Kingdom. Bick had only been with the airwing a few months. Soon after the crash, the Kenya Vice President Mr. Moi and Cabinet Ministers inspected the crash. Photo shows the scene of the crash soon after the incident
