Jul. 07, 1967 - The pilot taking part in the London Sonic boom tests speaks to the press: Wing Commander Henry Merriman, a pilot taking part in the London sonic boom tests, was present at the Ministry of Technology today to speak to journalists at a press conference. During the conference the final bang in the present exercises was being created by another R.A.F. pilot which was recorded on the roof of the Ministry. Wing Commander Merriman boomed over London yesterday in a 1, 000 m.p.h. Lightning fighter.
