Funeral Service for the Murdered Lufthansa-Captain Juergen Schumann: The official funeral service for the murdered Lufthansa - captain Juergen Schumann took place on October 21st, 1977, in the presence of several Ministers from Bonn, in the town-house of Babenhausen near Frankfurt/main (FRG), the hometown of the dead man. Six pilots kept the death-watch at the coffin of their friend Schumann, who was honoured with the Federal Distinguished Service Cross posthum. Juergen Schumann was shot in the Aden (Yemen) by the terrorists during the kidnapping, which lasted 5 days.
