1970 - Two models of the Boeing 747.. the stewardess in picture is showing. The German Lufthansa is the first European air company to use the Boeing 747 in its regular service (from April 26th, 1970 on) At the same time it is the first air line in the world establishing non stoop connection between the Federal Republic of Germany and the U.S.. The Jumbo jet which gives place to more than 400 passengers will fly on this route 5 times a week. On the whole, the Lufthansa will take into its service three jumbo jets within the year 1970 and they will fly the routes Frankfort-Chicago and Frankfort-New York
