Oct. 10, 1971 - Press Conference At Weybridge To Discuss The Recent Flight Of A Man-Powered Aircraft: The Weybridge Man Powered Aircraft Group today held a press conference at the Apprentice Training School, British Aircraft Corporation, Weybridge, to discuss the recent flight of their man-powered aircraft. The group is sponsored by the Royal Aeronautical Society, and are aiming their sights at the10, 000 prize money held by the Society for presentation to the first man to achieve a one mile flight round a figure-of-eight courses. The aircraft flew about 50 yards of a height of about 3-feet last September. It is a single seat. low wing, pusher monoplane with a wing span of 120-feet an overall length of 20-feet and a 7-foot propeller at the rear.
