Oct. 10, 1971 - Press Conference at Weybridge to Discuss the recent flight of a man-powered aircraft.: The Weybridge Man Powered Aircraft Group today held a press conference at the apprenties Training School, British Aircraft Corporation, Weybridge, to discuss the recent flight of their man-powered aircraft. The Group is sponsored by the Royal Aeronautical Society, and are aiming their sights at the £10, 000 prize money, held by the Society for presentation to the first man to achieve a one mile flight round a figure-of-eight course. The aircraft flew about 50 yeards at a height of about 3-feet last September. It is a single seat. low wing, pusher monoplane with a wind span of 120-feet, an overall length of 20-feet and a 7-feet propeller at the rear.
