Jan. 01, 1975 - Happy after skyjack attempt: Members of the crew of the British Airways BAC 1-11 who were held hostage by a skyjacker on a fligh them Manchester to London, pictured all smiles after their ordeal. They are British Airways Steward Alan Bond, who was bitten by a police dog as he overpowered the skyjacker at Stansted Airport, and Stewardesses Barbara Brindley (left) and Heather Ablard. The skyjacker had asked to be flown to Paris - but the plane flew to Stansted Airport from Heathrow. The skyjacker, armed with that turned out to be a dummy pistol, was overpowered by Alan Bond as they left the aircraft after arriving at Stansted
