Jun. 06, 1972 - Team of flying squad detectives receive the Queen's commendation for brave conduct.: A team of five flying squad detectives, led by Chief Inspector Davies went to an address in Hornsey in North London in February 1971 where two prison excapee were thought to be living. They managed to get into the house and entered two bedrooms each of which contained an escapee in possession of a loaded pistol and loaded shotgun respectively. The men were overpowered and arrested.
