May 05, 1977 - Elly Beinhorn Will be 70 years old: Her 70th year of life..the former woman sports pilot Elly Beinhorn will complete on May 30th 1977. She was born in Hannover and has been living in Munich for a long time. Elly Beinhorn carried through numerous record and round-the-world flights - in 1931/32 she Flew to South American Via Asia and Australia Covering a distance of 37000 km - and was awarded a great many prizes. In 1936 she married the famous racing driver Bernd Rosemeyer, who was killed in an accident two years later. she also got very successful as an author (adventure stories).
