Jun. 06, 1979 - Air Safety Chief Joins DC-10 Flight to Show Faith; As European airliner's DC-10s took the air again yesterday amid a growing row over the aircraft's safety. The directore of safety services at the Civil Aviation authority joined 270 passengers on a Laker Airways DC-10 flight to Crete to provide proof of his own faith in the plane. Mr. Geoffrey Chouffot said; We are an independent authority and we go through very complex procedures before granting air worthiness certification.
