1978 - 50th Anniversary of the first crossing of the North Atlantic form East to West: A great red carpet treatment at the airport Berlin-Tempelhof happened 50 years ago for three pilots: the Germans Captain Hermann Koehl (Hermann Koehl) and Ehrenfried Guenther Baron of Huenefeld (Ehrenfried Guenther Baron of Huenefeld) and the Irish Colonel Fitzmaurice (Fitzmaurice). They were the first, who were successful in crossing the North Atlantic in East-West-Direction with an aeroplane.
