Aug. 08, 1959 - Switch starts invasion of U.S. Air force squadrons to England: First mover have begun today in the reshaping of the United States Air Force Tactical squadrons in Europe, following General de Gaulle's refusal to allow the American to store nuclear weapons in France, Squadrons airfields in France to Germany, while aircraft with longer range are being moved back to Britain. Today the 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing of the U.S. Air Force, flew into the R.A.F. station at Alconbury, Huntingdonshire, from Germany, in the first move of the switch.
