Aug. 08, 1974 - Shooting begins on the new film Alfie Darling Alan Price plays the title role: Alfie Elkins, the screen's most famous rough-and-ready Romeo, made his welcome return to motion pictures when shooting began today on the new film Alfie Darling, a Signal Films production. Playing the title-role is Alan Price, the pop singer and songwriter, also making her motion picture starring debut as Abby in the film is Alan's co-star, American born actress, Jill Townsend, who, in private life, is married to British actor Nicol Williamson.
