1960 - AMERICAN NEWSBOYS VISIT LORD MAYOR OF LONDON. A party of 73 youthful American newsboys who are here on a week's visit - today met the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House. The boys aged between 12 and 17, represent almost every state in America, were chosen in a Young Columbus contest from more than 300, 000 U.S. newsboys throughout the United States. The selection is based on scholarship -citizenship - appearance and the ability to mange successfully their newspaper round.
