Alcohol - Prohibition
Nov. 11, 1958 - A Beer cellar for everyone': Seems to be the motive for the town of Weissenstadt/Fichtelgebirge. As the citizens and farmers still brew their own beer they had to look for suitable places where they could keep the precious fluid. The problem was solved very cleverly: a mountain has been inter weaved by small tunnels like a labyrinth. Every tunnel is about 10 meter deep and has its owner. The beer is kept there during summer and winter at constant temperatures between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius. Photo shows The Kellerberg which looks as if it is covered with molehill
