Aug. 08, 1956 - Alfred Hinds returns to London. After 248 days of freedom following jail break: Alfred George Hinds, arrived back at London airport from Dublin yesterday in the company of Scotland Yard officers. Hinds was arrested at his cottage - 17 miles from the city - after 248 days of freedom since his escape from Nottingham Jail. he was serving a 12 year sentence for his part in a Tottenham Court Road store robbery.
