Alfred Jodl signs surrender document to end WW2

May 05, 1975 - Thirty Years Ago Ended World War II: Thirty years ago on the night of May 9th, 1945, ended World War II in Europe with the unconditional surrender of Germany. Almost 16 million people, thereof 3, 85 million Germans, died in this horrible war which struck mankind with infinite harm. In May 1945 ended the gloomiest period in the German history; only a large expense of ruins was left from the German millenium'.
