April 17 File - American real estate developer ALFRED TAUBMAN, who changed the face of suburban life by popularising indoor shopping malls, has died at the age of 91. Adolph Alfred Taubman was born January 31, 1924, in Michigan to German Jewish immigrants. I started working when I was 9, he told an interviewer in 2007. I really wanted to make some money.
