Jun. 05, 1975 - The French Academy asked Ambroise-Marie Carre, Catholic priest, to present himself as a candidate to fill Cardinal Danielou's seat. The election will take place on June 26th. Due to his religious affiliation, Carre cannot declare himself a candidate, but he said he was ready to accept the academic honour if it were offered to him. He is pictured at his office in Paris
