Oct. 10, 1965 - Ten American golfers who have earned 1, 436, 000 between them in ten years: The game of golf has come a long way since the Scottish parliament banned it 500 years ago because it interfered with archery practice essential for the country's defence against English invaders. Now it is big business. Ten American players pictured here earned 1, 436, 000 between them in ten years. Their British opponents in this week's Ryder Cup match have probably earned only one-fifth of this amount. But in the Ryder Cup match things will be a little different. The Americans play for expenses only, the British for 100 each.
