Feb. 02, 1954 - Chimpanzee appears in debate between two MPs being filmed for American TV show: Today a chimpanzee appeared with Mr Christopher Mayhew, Labour MP for East Woolwich, and Captain LPS Orr, Conservative MP for County Down, in a debate at Windsor which was filmed for a top American TV show. The chimp is 22-months-old Mr J. Fred Muggeridge, the American chimpanzee who figured in the Coronation TV controversy. Subject of today's debate: commercial TV.
