Dec. 2, 1959 - Munich, Germany - AMHA SELASSIE of Ethiopia (July 27, 1916 - February 17, 1997) was the last Emperor of Ethiopia. Born Asfaw Wossen Taffari he was proclaimed Emperor in 1960, but was proclaimed in exile on April 8, 1989.
