Anahi Carfi, Argentinian violinist at La Scala, Milan
1973 Mar. 27 26-year-old Argentinian woman is the first and only first-violin in Italy. Plays in the famous orchestra of Milan's La Scala Theatre.: Milan, October 1973 - Anahi Carfi, a 26-year-old woman from Buenos Aires joined the orchestra of the Scala Opera House two years ago as second violin. On that same day she had won two different and very difficult competitions. As a result, Anahi jumped over the whole Hierarchy of much respected Scala second violins she is a daughter of art': Her father plays violin in the National Symphony Orchestra of Buenos Aires; Her mother gives concerts and teaches the harp. Anahi Carfi is thus the first woman ever to play as first violin in a Great Symphony Orchestra in Italy. She lives in a very small apartment in Milan's Via Borgospesso Nr. 6.
