Ananda Marga demonstrators arrested, Delhi, India

Apr. 18 The Ananda Marga yoga group has recently been agitating against the arrest of their guru known as Anand Murthi who is under arrest by the government and being prosecuted. Ananda Marga held a demonstration demanding the release of Anand Murthi on April 23rd 1973 where many were taken into custody and beaten up by police for having violated section 144 near the Parliament House. Photo shows police taking them into custody. The issue has however become very controversial now that an avadhoot a member of the organisation is alleged to have committed suicide somewhere in the Old Fort which led to the arrest of some Ananda Marga and a CBS TV cameraman along with his female assistant, recording the burning alive of the Avadhoot'. The cameraman and his assistant have been charged with the abetment of murder and involvement in the suicide or alleged murder case
