Ancient jar from private collection for sale
Dec. 04, 1981 - A quote from Marcel Schwob is written around the piece of art: The ocean lives in this jar. It contains a genie who was a prince, a wise girl figured out how to break the enchantment with the permission of King Solomon who gave the voice to the mandrakes. There is only one other piece of art that resembles this one and it is at the Nancy Museum. The one picture came from a private collection and will probably be sold to a Japanese or American museum
