Ancient original page, Book of Isaiah
Apr. 05 Oldest Bible Manuscript comes to Britain. A 2, 000 year old scroll from Book of Isaiah. A 2, 000 year old Jewish scroll, an original page of the Book of Isaiah, is to be exhibited at the British Museum. It is part of the Bible manuscripts. 1, 000 years older than any before known, which were found by wandering Arab in a cave near the Dead Sea in 1947. The page was brought to London by Dr. E.L. Sukenik, a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Sukenik said that there was evidence that other scrolls may be found in the sea area. He is trying to raise 25, 000 to enable a new and thorough search to be made. The scroll was found in two jars
