Feb. 02, 1967 - French Writer and Wine Expert who is 90 today is host at a special Banquet at the Dorchester: Andre Simon, who celebrates his 90th birthday today, was the special guest at a banquet given by the Wine and Food Society, a gaggle of gourmets which he founded, at the Dorchester Hotel this evening. Andre, the French writer is still probably the greatest expert around on food and wine. He has published 75 books on the subject. Among some of the wines which will be drunk at the banquet were 120 bottles of Chateau Latour, 1929, which has been called the wine of the century.
