1968 - Curly haired Martin wins riding tropheis at the age of two.; Its not very long ago that 2-year-old Martin Brierley learned to walk, and already he has won a couple of rosettes for his performances is gymkhanas near his home at Salisbury Road, Worthing, Sussex. Cuarly haired Martin has been riding since he was 18 months old ans is the youngest member of the Crawley and Horsham Branch of the Pony Club. Martin got his enthusiasm for horses from his brother, John aged 11 who has won many riding awards and wants to be a jockey. Both boys take their riding lessons together at Findon, Sussex and Martin can saddle his pony Dot and groom her after their ride. He knows all the doodges about getting the best out of her too, and always has his pockets filled with carrots and lumps of sugar.
