Animals - Aquariums - Archeology - Insects - Fossils - Zoos

1968 - Lugger Falcon strikes at the lure. Eagles and hawks are trained to fly to the fist. The birds keen sight soon spots the lure - an imitation bird. Usually it is swung round the falconers head until the bird is about to strike and then thrown up into the air where, if it is alert the bird strikes and carries it down to the ground. It is always baited with a smell piece of meat. (Credit Image: (c) Keystone Pictures USA/ZUMAPRESS.com/Mary Evans)
