Animals - Aquariums - Archeology - Insects - Fossils - Zoos

1968 - Schoolboy is Foster father to a Canada goose When 13 year old schoolboy, Gwilwyn Stacey, of Whitchurch, Shrepshire found a large egg under a hedge near his home, he took it back to his mother kitchen and placed it in the cooker. Imagine his surprise and his mother when seven days later out popped a baby Canada goose. Gwilwyn called the arrival Candy and a strong bond of affection sprung up between the two. Candy now follows her foster father round everywhere, even to school, which is a bit of a problem. School is three miles away and Gwilwyn has to carry Candy back every time she follows him.
